What is everyones top speed? What is the stock top speed for 5th gen preludes??

 

On mine it tops out at 120mph. Because the ECU

 

120 - SPEED LIMITER

 

i thought a 5th gen w/o a speed limiter is supposed to get up to 145ish due to gearing

but i've also seen wild stories of ppl hitting 160 and swearing to it

just remember the speedometer is not accurate the high up it goes

and yes, mine is limited to 118 (confirmed) until i can get a different p13

 

i'ver personally done 132 in my 95vtec usdm
4th gear had run out and i was at like 6500-6700 in 5th....it was still pulling pretty good but i was coming up on a curve

 

I've hit 140 on the speedometer in my BB2.

 

98 lude auto, mine only goes up to 115

 

I have hit 120ish in my 93 h23...

 

I can go as high as i want...............
But seriously, i've gotten to 85mph.

No the JDM p13s have a speed limiter
USDM dont

 

I've had my 92 S model up to 160 and yes I am one of the few that will swear by it. When I switched transmissions though I now have a top speed of around 127ish. (The 160 top speed was done beside a friend in a stock(suspension wise) c5 just to see how fast I could go))

I do not have a body kit on my car there buddy, a cf front lip yes body kit no. And as far as I can tell you have only contributed to being on of the growing *** holes this world has come to know.

 

I tried this once... Just to see..

I got up to 125 MPH and then it kinda just stopped, like the ECU didn't want to go any higher.. I think I got about 127 MPH before I left off since it wasn't going any faster anytime soon..

Didn't want to be doing 125 MPH for very long... Just trying to see what it would do..
This was on a Stock Si H23 & Stock Tranny. Everything stock.. With a 13X,XXX Miles on the Stockness..

err, the base S has 140 hp, and your speedo only goes to 140, how the hell can you confirm 160 mph?

ive seen a 5th gen on video, hit over 150 mph... with just an air intake... it was pretty amazing... i, myself have done 135.. and 5th gens dont have a speed limiter, b/c i would have hit it already..at like 120...

so what tranny did you have originally? what other mods would allow you to do this? the numbers just don't add up

stock wise we don't have the gearing to do it, power wise........you stock making 140 hp to the flywheel, we are a lil heavy and the drag on preludes ins't the greatest either

 

In my 2001 base:

130 mph and still pulling was what I got last time I tried it. Uphill.

All stock, but meticulously maintained, and with trunk gutted.

 

i've hit 152 racing against my bro in his 300 zx mine is a 96 vtech.

 

I've hit 140 and still going not even redlining on my 01 Auto 5th Gen no bullshit.. I have video of this to prove.. not on my laptop yet but hahaa if i find the lil damn mini dv tape i'll have it posted.. only had intake at the time

 

135 with lots of room left but the rx7 backed off because the freeway started curving. wusss
