TIRE question
I currently have 205/45/15's on my si's. What is the widest I can go on my 4th gen prelude 4x114.3 pattern si's? LEt me know
Also I was thinking about going with Falken Azenis b/c I had Toyo proxi 4's and there nice if you want to lay smoke, but for grip, I wasn't impressed.
opinions, opinions. let them flowwwwwww

a wider tire doesn't necessarily mean you'll have more grip. Keep your 205s for now. A 215 might give you a larger contact patch for drag racing, but everywhere else, they'll be worse than stock. Just run stickier tires in 205. When you can afford wider wheels, then you can put wider tires on them.
why are you people running these goofy *** sizes?
there is no reason to go wider than 205 on our 6.5" wide rims rims.....you need to spend more on some stickier tires
205/55/15, 205/50/16, 225/45/16, 205/45/17, and 225/40/17 are what you should be running to keep your speedo and odometer as accurate as possible.
if you are running smaller like 205/45/15 and have not recalibrated your **** then you are actually adding miles to your odometer that you are not driving....in this case about 7 extra miles for every 100
i have experimented with many different widths and brands and unless you are running the stickiest tire on the market, then there is no point in going wider....i have had many narrower tires grip better than wider ones.
Personally i run a 16x7 with 225/45/16 michelin pilot sports...you need at least 7" width to run 225 with out compromising the lateral handling characteristics

good point. so keep in mind that sizes aren't truly universal. I didn't rub w/ the 225/45/17 Advans on my mitsu, but when I ran 225/45/17 yokohamas, they did...
