Default Timing Belt Install Problem

I just recently changed the head on my f22a1 engine. I also changed the distributor. The timing appears to be correct, but the engine will not run. When I try to start, it will turn over but it won't catch and if i try to give it gas to keep it running it wont maintain an idle. Does anyone know any secrets or tricks for setting the timing or what might be going on?
Thanks,
gary

check that you have a spark plug wires correct, make sure you set it on tdc and not anything else on the flywheel.

thanks man... it turns out I was lining tdc up with the wrong mark on the flywheel. I think there are four marks in all.. this is sorta comical because i have been stumped for about a week, and all along i was about 3 teeth off on timing.. I really appreciate it
