So i just undid my intake manifold to put a new gasket on. un did the thermastat and sensor below headers. Put them back together. Now on my dash next to the gas tank gauage thing the temp thing is never right alot of times no bars come up. What sensor or what does that get its reading from?

Are you sure you plugged up everything as it is supposed to? Sounds like you plugged in the wrong connectors.

 

Is your thermostat stuck open? That happened in my friend's S.
