has anybody used the ECU off a S model on a Si???.. if so, did it work properly???

I know its kinda farfetched, but its worth a try asking..

i'm curious b/c my cel light is on (its the knock sensor) and seeing how the S model doesn't have a knock sensor.... well.. just curious if it'll work properly..

my smog date is coming up soon and the non-functioning knock sensor won't let me pass...

 

the CEL is coming on for a reason, obviously your knock sensor is gone bad.

first thing is that the f22 is a sohc and a 2.2L the h23 is a dohc 2.3L totally different engine which means the fuel and ignition maps will be off. it would probably run but how well and for how long i don't know

the other thing is that the h23 has the dual runner intake manifold which the S doesn't.

just fix your knock sensor. if this were to test if the ecu were bad, yes the car would start and idle but i wouldn't keep it that way for long

 

does the h23 even have a knock sensor? cuz I just had my h23 swapped to an h22a and we had to wire up the knock sensor for the new motor...

Yes it does, just replaced mine a few months ago. It's right above the oil filter...
