Suspension install gone wrong :(
Ok so i decide to put some springs on my car. Started at the back everything went pretty smooth. Now that i get to the front I mess up.
I decide to disconnect the ball joint on the A-arm so I can have more room to pull the strut out. Well I got it out but now i cant move the handle that was connected to the A-arm back to it. Its just haning and I cant push it foward.
I'm wondering if I messed up my axle or something?? :confused
here are pictures

Lift it up so that the axle is level (horizontally), then make sure the axle is pushed in all the way (towards the engine), then it should fold up to the ball joint.
try placing the floor jack directly under the lower ball joint on the bottom center of the knuckle.....jack it so the whole knuckle/spindle assembly rises straight up. Should get you somewhere near the upper control arm. Think I remember getting close and having a buddy lift the knuckle while I tried to line it up.
Good luck

you pulled the axle out of the inner CV.. It has to be disassembled now and put back together.. you must remove it now and take it to a shop if you don't have the band clamp tool.

true. i had the same thing happen to me when i was swapping suspension on my accord. i have a friend thats a tech at honda, and he told me i hyper-extended my axle. you can take it out and have a shop fix it, but i got lucky and got the axle back together just by playing with it and trying to get it back in myself. either way you are going to have to remove the axle and find a way to fix it. good luck!

it does look like you pulled the inner drive axle (CV) too far out and it needs to be taken out and re-put the gears inside that boot
when you put the upper ball joint back on the knuckle... that axle is hard to turn right?

yea im all about saving money....you can easily fix this yourself....before you take off the boot jus make sure you have a tube of grease for after you put the squares in and thats it.....it wouldnt hurt to have a buddy help you out...it isnt a big problem its gonna jus take time cuz ur gonna have to play with it a lil till all squares go in
This happened to me, and I ran out and bought a new axle...
They're mad easy to replace. Disconnect the lower ball joint, connect the upper ball joint, put the wheel on, SLOWLY lower the car, unstake and remove the axle nut, disconnect the tie+radius rods...the knuckle should only be connected to the axle now, which you took the nut off of...pull the knuckle off the axle, pry the axle off from the differential, and take the **** to a shop or put it back together yourself...or buy a new axle...
Seriously it's like 1-2hrs of work, nothing major. Just a pain to do. Have a friend and a Haynes manual on hand for all the details...piece a cake.
