supercharge or turbo???
Depends on your goals. Some will say Supercharger, some will say turbo, and some dumbass's who didn't read the question will say N/A or nitrous. Just depends on what your trying to accomplish. If your goal is to really tear the drag strip up you want a turbo. You looking for reliability/driveability and a quick daily driver get a supercharger.

Ditto.
Turbo = high maintanance + 105% raw power(doubt me? i have one, im in the garage everyday)
Supercharger = Good for reliability, produces power but not as much power capabilities as turbo offers

Well, You could get the SC kit, play with it a bit, and then sell it for a turbo kit like many opt to.
Or, you could just get the turbo kit and save a few grand. Your call.

its very true, what are you going to accomplish... its all what you want... i say if this is your only car then get the supercharger because of the horribel probelms turbo causes (besides factory turbos)..i have a few friends...they turboed there car and there in the shop paying for it...i have a friend with a supercharged m3 and hes doing just fine...it all depends what you want...i'm the type of person with a bypass valve in my cold air intake
There are two main reasons why Turbos blow their engine. One is lack of tuning, this is also a factor with the Supercharger kit. If you just slap it on there and start pushing the engine, it will most likely lead to a blown engine. The second reason is the ease of adjusting boost. With the turbo you can just turn a **** or push a button and go from 6psi to 8-9psi. With the supercharger you are stuck at the same psi unless you get a new pulley. I've ridden with a lot of Turbo friends and when they lose and that adrenaline is pumping they just up the boost without thinking.
my friend has a stock 95 eclipse gst and he had some kind of knock in it from 1st to 2nd then when he hit 3rd it would quit and he had to get a whole new engine to put in it

Just wondering, what exactly are the problems that keep u in the shop all the time fixing your car...did u sleeve your block, new pistons, rods, valves, springs, all that ****??? Just thought if you bullet proof your engine with all the aftermarket goodies, it will be pretty reliable?
Just want some sort of idea what i'm gonna be looking at in terms of maintainence, what exactly i'm gonna have to be fixing or adjusting all the time, figuring i have all of the above mentioned done to my car!
thanks!
I helped work on my friends 2000 Prelude SH, it first ran nitrous, then a turbo with no nitrous. The car ran for about 9 months on 13 psi, only a few problems, nothing major, then 18 psi for about 2 months, no new problems, then for the last 6 months at about 25 psi (not daily driven any more) and the car runs strong (there are so many problems now they all balance out at it's fast as hell).......it still hold all the power on all stick internals except a thicker head gasket. oh yea.....and it goes through a tank of gas in about 75 miles with your foot in it
you can bullet proof your block all you want. If you don't have the proper fuel even as low as 9 or 10 psi you can destroy your engine. Tuning is the key for both Supecharged and Turbocharged engines!
i don't know i don't own a prelude
im sorry.. not trying to be rude or anything.. but what does not owning a prelude have to do with which is better? turbo or sc?

Keep in mind i plan on keeping my boost at about 10psi max on the street, maybe 8...
tuning is key.
10-12 psi all day, every day, in Texas summer heat is easilty possible with good tuning.
I'm starting to become a fan of the F-Max kits, just have to get a custom downpipe made.

Turbo offers greater returns, but can be harder on your engine.
You do have to tune more with Turbo.
Another thing you might want to consider is the fact that a supercharger is a bitch to put on the 5th gen ludes... (or so I have heard)
I have a 4th gen so if I go FI i only have one option..

There's no way in hell the STOCK H22 can take such high boost!!! Ur friend must have done something besides the head gasket in order to run such high #'s.

agreed. 15+psi on a 2mm rIdeal head gasket almost blew my motor, I had coolant seeping into the cc causing wicked white smoke.
