My upper control arem ball joint stripped out , so i cant tighten the bolt. Is buying the whole arm the only option or will a shop be able to just change the ball joint ?

Northstar makes adjustable UCA's, for a little less than 100 a piece. Advance has them

I have heard you can press in a new ball joint. I think it is too thin to mess with. If the ball joint is in good condition you could re-thread it....

I have a 97 Prelude SH and there was a recall on the passengers side ball joint. I called Honda after they told me that it was bad but didn't tell me about the recall. I had to find out from another garage that I spoke with. I had Honda look up the Serial number of the car and they said "Oh yeah, there is a recall on that part". I would check that out, you might be able to get it replaced for nothing.

i would personally go and buy the part, you'd be buying peace of mind if nothing else BUT if you have to press a ball point in it should work fine. I did it for my buddy and hes been driving stupid for over a year no problems.

Could you find out what year and model of Accord?

2-3 dollars a piece..relatively cheap...if you can save the ball joint and not buy a whole new arm.

I would just re-thread it. If you dont have the tools buy a set of dies, they are a good investment anyways. I am sure you will need them in the future.

anyone know if the ball joint thread for EG/DC2/EK's are the same width as ones from a bb1/4/6?

looking into a project and was wondering if i could use EG compatible ball joints with our trailing arms.
