throttle body is only recommend on highly built motors. dont just have I/H/E and a throttle body, it wont net you anything. i would also recommend having the IM Port matched. 70MM should be sufficient depending on how modified we are talking.

pretty sure if they are both CNC machined it doesn't really matter...they pretty much do the same thing...

Is there any formula for determining the optimal opening?

For example: My goal is to get 220WHP All-Motor. What would be optimal size?

I like a stock looking motor, so I was planning to get a stock one bored out to 66mm, but I'm not sure if that's still too small.

H22 in a eg stock coupe

Intake/header/Exhaust 14.0 on street tires pass after pass at the track

Intake/header/Exhaust and 70mm T/B 13.6 on street tires pass after pass at the track!

Prelude motors LOVE air!!! More air, more fuel the computer will add and more power!

Yes T/B make a difference on I/H/E

Space ***** can bore out a stock T/B
JG makes a nice T/B and so does BBK

i have a friend that runs 13.7 all day long on a completely stock h22 in an eg, with 17s and street tires. so i doubt its the throttle body.

fact is i've dyno tested a stock 60mm tb against a 64mm tb and i gained ZERO horsepower, , and the IM was already port matched for the 64mm i just slapped the stock 60 back on on one pass and low and behold zero hp gain.

I think what he is saying is that is 1/4 time decreased from a consistent 14.0 to a 13.7 w/ the new throttle body. He is not saying that it will make you definately run 13s just that it will increase power.

I'm wondering the same thing. Some people say that use BBK Throttle Bodies on their Preludes, but on their website:

1546 - 62mm Honda Performance Throttle Body 1.5/1.6L
1547 - 70mm Honda/Acura Performance Throttle Body 1.8L/1.6L
1752 - 70mm Integra GSR Dual-Cam VTEC Throttle Body
1753 - 70mm 1996-2001 Integra Type-R Throttle Body

Which one is it?

These are the TB that BBK offer for Honda/Acura, does that mean all of their 70mm TB fits Prelude?

1546 - 62mm Honda Performance Throttle Body 1.5/1.6L
1547 - 70mm Honda/Acura Performance Throttle Body 1.8L/1.6L
1752 - 70mm Integra GSR Dual-Cam VTEC Throttle Body

All parts are not created equally. We really did our homework on this part and will soon be releasing it for the S2000 and K Series motors. We use high quality parts during assembly, and coat all parts used such as the shaft and spring, to ensure a lasting part.

Just In Case:
If you have a TB that does not have a coated shaft or spring, send it back and we will replace the parts at no charge.

If you have any questions PM me I will try to help you as best I can.
