starting problem
recently whenever i turn my car on my clutch has to be about an inch away from being fully pressed down for it to work...if my foots down all the way it wont start. this same situation happened to one of my friends, and his problem was solved after he changed his clutch (which was old)...im hoping i can fix this problem some other way...being that i changed my clutch just 6 months ago. if you guys have any ideas of why it just started doing this and how i can fix it..thatd be awesome. thanks
there's a starting interlock system for manual tranmission cars... (page 23-77 helms) basically it's a switch on your clutch that tells the car "it's ok to start" once the clutch is fully depressed. the switch resides above the clutch pedal.. I imagine some positional adjustment of the switch could resolve your problems. I'm not sure if there is some sort of bump stopper that usually resides under the clutch pedal (and i'm reluctant to go and check my car) but i'd also check that you're not adjusting the switch in vain because of missing something like that - (if it exists).
