squeaking while turning?
im lowered about 1.5" with Skunk2's and Tokico blues, so far i've had no problems, but just recently my "front" wheels(?) have started to make light squeaking noises while turning. it's only audible when i have my windows down and music off, but its definetly there. does anyone know what the culprit may be?
Dont think it would be a cv joint, because they useually dont squeak just make a clicking noise. Does it squeak when the car is off and you turn the wheel? If so dos it squeak when you push down on the front corner of the bumper? Could be a bad lower ball joint(steering knuckel)
a squeeling sound can also come from the front ball joints of the car.
this happened to me and the lower ball joint needed to be replaced.
it most likely is not the cv, but could be the sway bar bushings.
when your car is parked, push the front bumper up and down on both sides. if you can hear the squeeling sound while it's parked and you're pushing, it most likely is the ball joint.

yea, i can hear the squeaking while pushing down the front end of the car. is failure of the lower ball joint normal wear and tear? or is it because im lowered? is this something i can fix on my own, or am i better off taking it to a shop? cost estimates? thanks guys.
lower ball joints are a replacement item. not like replacing belts but over time they wear. the preludes have also had problems with this in certain years. with premature wear/failure.
try lubing/greasing the lower and upper ball joints first. it may help. but if the problem persists it will just get worse. it's more noticeable in the colder weather also. you may not need to change them right away but down the road. it seems to happen more so on high mileage or older cars that have been dropped or cars that have been dropped for a number of years such as mine was.

The certain years for failure ar 97up (5thgen)...so your 98 may be under recall, check at your local honda dealer for this, replacement may be free.
