Default Are sparkplug covers important?

Just wondering if the sparkplug covers are important, because I'd like to take mine off. I don't see the point of them, but if they keep crap out the sparkplugs or something like that, I'd leave it on. Any thoughts?

im 99.9% sure it's just cosmetic, there are plenty of motors out there with no spark plug covers. an example would be the b18b1

could help if you have bad fitting wires like i used to have. They would somtime lift out of the spark plug

Thanks everyone. I was pretty sure its not needed, but you never know. I like the look of plug wires coming out the valley between the cams. Actually I'm opposed to any engine cover, I think they're all gay. Like the VWs, is there really an engine there?

Its not needed like stated above 5 times. Purely cosmetic. I have a CF One. They are very exspensive for their purpose. 60 dollars for OEM 80 BUCKS FOR CF.
