Default Spark plug HELP!

Check engine light is on. Diagnostic said that there was a Misfire on cylinder 1,2,3, and 4. But, the engine runs well.

The black spark plug covers (4). Took them off. On 1 and 4, oil was flooded to the point where you could not see the spark plug. 2 and 3 are fine. I'm thinking the fact that the oil was flooded, the oil was blocking the contact between the spark plug wire and connection.

But why was it flooded with oil in the first place? A crack in the engine? Its a JDM engine so maybe during shipment the engine was upside down at one point?? I have no idea.

If you guys have any idea. Please let me know. Check engine light was on before all of this. The previous owner told me to replace the cat because thats what he said was causing the check engine light. Bastard. Spent $220 to get that fixed and replaced. AND $70 for diagnostics. Still CEL.

your spark plug tube seals, which come wit your valve cover gasket kit are shot. the rubber is dried up which does not seal correctly. replace those tube seals along with the valve cover and grommet and you should be ok...

Hmm I looked up a diagram here:

The yellow are the tube seals if I'm correct. Yeah I guess that make sense. Basically leaking through the broken rubber.

Would you be willing to explain more on this? I need all the imput I can get..

It's pretty simple. Visable gaskets like on your oil pan and valve cover, get hard and crack over time, so they can't properly seal your engine and oil leaks out. Same applies to the gaskets sealing the spark plug tubes from the valve cover gasket on the inside. Remove valve cover gasket, replace seals. Soak up as much oil as you can from the tube, then remove the plug and clean up what's left. You'll most likely have some smoke on your next start up to burn off the oil that dripped into the cylinder while you had the plug out, but that's normal. Drive around a while then check and see if the oil has returned at all
