It depends on the color of the smoke.
Black smoke=motor is running rich. Some under full throttle is normal though.
White smoke= water. Some vapor is normal when it is cold out or the car is cold, it is bad though if it smells sweet and overheating generall ensues.
Blue smoke=oil. You don't want to see this at all. If you are getting blue under load it is usually a sign of worn rings.

a lot of white smoke, is usually a sign of coolant in the combustion chamber, aka a bad headgasket. Black smoke is usually a sign of a rich fuel mix, and blue smoke is oil. all vtec motor blow a little oil, not much and usually not that visable. pull the spark plugs, they can tell you whats going on, wether it be coolant, oil, or fuel
On all stock p13 preludes the A/F ratio richens the higher the RPM. So when WOT there will be an increasing amount of black smoke visible, especually if you have a testpipe instead of a cat. blue smoke = bad, white smoke when warm = bad. But you can check your plugs to see what kind of lean/rich condidtions the engine is running.
