smoke from the engine... need help fast
I took my lude for a drive and after a few hi-revs from 2-3-4th gear i noticed a little smoke coming under my hood. I check and it comes from the back side under the IM and there is no oil left in the motor.
Could i have any leak from a gasket and the smoke is actually the burning oil???
Whats the worst it could be.
its a h22a and the motor was full warmed up before i took it.
ps. I noticed a leaking from my engine a month ago and my mechanic told me that my oil temp sensor was coming loose and he replaced it.

im 93% sure that the smoke that was coming from under the hood was oil burning on the exhaust, since you said that when you stopped there was no oil in the engine (that makes complete sense). since you said that it was coming from that backside of the engine (this is what i would do) fill it up with oil, lift it up, start it and see where the oil leak is coming from. i guarantee you should see it right away since you said it burned up 5 quarts of oil in that quick of a time frame that means it is like pouring out of there, you should be able to see it right away.
you only need to be about a quart low to not register on the dipstick. Doesnt mean the entire contents of the oilpan dumped out all over the place. ( it would be kinda hard to miss a 5 qt oil slick dont you think ?)
check all fluid levels, top everything off, do a compression test or listen for some knock., check for an oil leak. Park the car over a peice of cardboard to get a general idea of where the leak is since most people dont have access to a lift.

i had a problem with smoke coming from my hood also, last year. It was oil dripping from my oil filter. I had to change the seal. It fixed the problem. Hope this helps.
