From searching around a bit I gather that an 87 prelude is a 2nd gen carbed car and the 88 is the 3rd gen FI model? Just need to make sure before debating if this 87 Si I'm looking at might be worth it, thanks.

Yeah, I'm still seaching around and have found a couple people with 88 and 89 preludes that have carbs but didnt say what model they had....so if anyone out there is positive that the 87 SI model is FI I would really appreciate it!

 

SI = Sport Injected. Si models are FI, that's why they are called Si's The carb models are like HFs and other crap. the 87-88 was when all the Si models with injection came out.

 

the only 2nd and 3rd gen prelude that were carbed are the 2.0S (base model). all others are fuel injected

83-87 is 2nd gen Carb, 1.8L. SI models are fuel injected (2.0L)

88-91 is 3rd gen, 2.0S = Carb, any other model is fuel injected.
