Default Shock nut- in trunk

I'm trying to take this nut off, but the stud turns along with it when I turn the nut with the wrench. How the f* am I suppose to take it off this way?

grab some vice grips and clamp it so the vice grips wedge on something then torque the **** out of the nut... vice grips + torque = problem solved

the right way to do it is get an allen wrench and stick it down the hole and use a cresect wrench to turn it
cause the vice grips could screw up the threads

Yea, I just saw the hex cut in the top of the stud. Considering it's 29 degrees today and I don't have the right size key, this project isn't going to happen today. Thanks for your help guys.

Since you said "in the trunk" I'm guessing it's still in the car. If you remove that nut with everything still in the car, it's gonna be hard to physically remove it from the car when the time comes. You're supposed to remove the nuts on the left and right, and the one on the bottom, remove the whole assembly from the car, then remove the top one while the spring is either A: compressed or B: aim it away from everything you value
