Is the shiftboot frame on all Hondas the same?
I have a 93 Prelude VTEC and I'm looking to replace the shiftboot so I can get an aftermarket shiftknob. I was wondering if the shiftboot and frame are identical for all Hondas/Acuras. For example, could I use the ITR shiftboot with red stitching?
All the shift boots and frames on hondas and acuras are different, they require you to modify them to fit properly, but you can use an ITR on a PRelude.

really, very interesting, would look a hell of a lot better than what it is now. a question that i have is, are all the shift ***** the same size(i mean where they screw in)?

The shift ***** are interchangable...the shift boots are not for the most part. You can try modifying all you want but the fact remains that most of the shift boots are going to be too wide, or too long, or vice versa.

So are the shiftboots on all Hondas/Acuras different from each other or do some models share such as Civic/Integra or Prelude/Accord, etc?
Can anyone confirm what shiftboots will work on the 4th gen Preludes?

I had an OEM civic type-r boot (black with red stitch) on my 98 civic and wanted to use it for my 5th gen lude when I recently bought it.
this is the boot I have:

the frames are different (lude is skinnier but taller) so I took the boot off the frames and stapled the civic boot to the lude frame.
I had to trim off a piece of the plastic on the lude frame that stuck up into the boot, not sure if the 4th gens have it. That piece sticking up would make the boot tight when in reverse.
After all is said and done it looks awesome with my skunk 2 **** that also came off my civic.
I may be able to get some pics, but it looks factory the way I have it done.
If you're worried about the boot from a civic being too short (won't be) then shorten you shifter and that will take care of that.
sorry for the long post.
