Default S2000 exaust

Is it possible to fit an S2000 dual exaust on a 5th gen Lude ? I love the way they sound just not sure if it's possible.

well part of the sound is the motor. So even though you can modify the exhaust to fit. it might not sound like it.

Now if you put an f20c and the exhaust then we are talking. (kidding)

then you no longer have a prelude. you would have a s2k that thinks it's a prelude.

haha yeah true. just wondering if it's worth the trouble trying to custom fit it on the prelude or not. and I figured the engines are not that much different so it would sound somewhat the same.

You could probably use the mufflers, but be ready for an exhaust shop to be doing a lot of piping work.

The F20C and H22 probably wouldn't sound very different, given the same exhaust. How much can 6mm of stroke change?

it's not worth the trouble or the outcome.

a friend of mine had a S2000 muffler on his 5th Gen lude, just one though, they flow quite well for a stock item, and keeps the car quiet still.

Dual exhaust is pretty ghey and it only adds weight and complexity.

Despite the weight and complexity, I think that dual exhaust on a Prelude would be pretty badass.

ignoring the fact that is just stupid, it has absolutely no technical merit either

dual exhaust on any inline 4cyl is just extra weight that is not needed. many s2k owners going for true performance opt to replace the exhaust with a single

how is it stupid ? not everyone is about performance. Dual exausts look crazy. Don't like it, don't do it.

I'll admit that I'd take it to have a car that sounds less like *** though. But I'm a ricer at heart.

Technical merit? It sure does require some technical know-how to fit an exhaust system to a car that it wasnt made for.

If you like the dual exhaust look, go for it

what he means it's pointless performance wise obviously because it's a four banger. and no the f20 and h22 are waay different motors. it's not just about stroke or bore. i doubt you'd achieve anything relatively close to what the s2k sounds like. aside from that, the only thing this would do is add weight and for those who like the aesthetic look of dual exhausts it's still simply pointless. but if you like it and you're willing to dish out that kind of energy and doe to do something like this, well it's your money no one's going to stop you.

Now tell me that isn't bad ***, big deal you gain 30lbs extra on the weight. If you're such a big ricer than your riced out engine can handle it. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUbwH4Ofows

If you want your car to sound like ***, why bother with an exhaust?

My Argument:

An H22 with dual exhaust could sound great and look great with properly sized and properly positioned (not sticking out) mufflers.

Symmetry looks better, which is why Honda did it to the Euro-R/S2000/TSX/ATR.

My Supporting Fact:

Accord Type-R, 212hp H22A with OEM dual exhaust. I certainly think it sounds great.

What it comes down to is this:

It's your car, your money, your taste, so do what ever the expletive you want with it.
Mount 5 mufflers on it if that will make you happy.

But keep in mind that putting an S2000 muffler on a Prelude WILL NOT make it sound like an S2000. PERIOD.
