ok so youre driving in regular traffic and you go to downshift...do you have to revmatch to downshift or is that just for when you want some power when you downshift to a lower gear so you can punch it??? like coming out of a corner racing someone or at the track???

 

rev match for no jerking motion, plus less stress on clutch.

 

rev matching is always a good thing.

 

I do it just to keep myself entertained......

True, but if you are going to hit a red light, just put the clutch in and use the brakes. It's better to replace brake pads than it is to replace a clutch.
