Icon3 Reverse light problems Help!! (yes ive searched)

Ok, reverse lights stay on in neutral, 1-4th gear and only go off in 5th. Switch is good. The lobe in the tranny moves all the way up to push in the switch when its in reverse. It then moves half way out of the way in neutral and 1-4th gears and completely out of the way in 5th. Im not sure if something is messed up or if the wrong switch is in there and its just too long. Is there any way to tell?.

Im not quiet sure how the tranny reverse light is wired up, but from what I can guess one of them is running a 12v positive signal and when you shift into reverse it triggers a switch that lets the 12v signal flow to the back lights for the reverse signal.

That should be how it works.

Well, just in case someone in the future has this same issue. It ended up being that the last owners put the switch in the transmission without a washer to space the switch properly so it didnt turn off. So, if you have this issue and you dont have a washer on yours then put one there. Make sure to check and see if you have one stuck to the transmission. If you do then its your reverse switch.
