reverse issues
I have a 99 prelude with an aem cold air ,aem power steering pully and a neuspeed short throw . Recently i lost reverse. The shifter gose to the reverse spot and the lights come on but it does not go in to reverse. i tried taking the short throw out to see if maybe that was the problem but no luck. then i looked over all the linkages and they were all working correctly. has anyone had the same problem . is it a fluke with the 5 speed tranny or is it something easier
Get someone to help you. One of you get in the car. One of you get under the hood. Whoever is under the hood should shift the transmission my hand. When you figure out how to put it in reverse, see what happens. If it does, I'd see what's up with the shifter and shift linkage. If it doesn't, then I'd say you have a tranny issue.
