Default Resleeve kit?

Who makes a resleeve kit, and who can resleeve the block of an H22A4? What's the approximate cost of the kit? In terms of the cost and performance ratio is it better to just go with the Type S pistons?

Darton, AEBS, and Golden Eagle make a sleeve kit. If you get Golden Eagle sleeves, then they will have to install them so you have to send the block to them. Here is there website: http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com If you get Darton, then any reputable machine shop can put them in. Approximate cost for the Dartons is $5?? (for sleeves only) and Golden Eagle is around $800-1000 for sleeves and install.

Are you just going to be naturally aspirated? If so, then I would just get Type S pistons, unless you want to go to a higher compression, then you will have to resleeve the block to run forged pistons. Another option would be to get Type S pistons and a thinner headgasket to raise the compression more.

You honestly cannot compare the two! Type-S piston is still manufactured by Honda, which in turn means it's basically stock so if you were to boost chances are your pistons would not handle this after 10psi or so. Forged Pistons are better and stronger.

If you were to sleeve the block you are basically making it bullet proof, for high amounts of boost, so your car in turn would not throw a rod or anything like that.

I think he is asking about the Type S pistons because he going the naturally aspirated route. Kinda pointless to put in higher compression pistons when you are boosting since this will further increase chances of pre-ignition and detonation.

Yeah I'm going NA all the way, I've had my head ported and polished with 5 thousands milled off the head. I have bullfrog cams. I'm looking to up my CR, so what would be the best method and cost effective way to do this. I've got some scratches on the no three cylinder I'm assuming this is from a bad landing on the piston. It taps also. So I'm wondering if I should get oversize pistons because I have to take out the scratches?

not neccesarily, with proper tuning, and a well built engine higher compression with boost can work greatly in your advantage, and will produce more power, but it is more expensive to accomplish properly. i too thought the same thing initialy, but have sinced learned otherwise. when my lude get's back together, i will be able to boost at about 20psi on my 18g turbo, with a stock 10:1 compression ratio

So is the stock CR 10.1:1? The type S pistons say they are 11.1:1? Is this correct?

yes

EDIT: actually i'm not sure if it will raise it to 11:1 b/c of the head, yes, type S piston will raise the compression, but i'm not sure exactly how much. the type S has a slightly different combustion camber, and the valve angle are a little different(unless someone has learned something else, that was the last thing i read on this board)
