Hey i bought this "mugen" resistor chip off of ebay. It was $26 with shipping. I was wondering if this chip is really legit. it suppose to add 7-20 hp. If anyone can tell me anything about it that'd be appreciated. thanks a lot.

 

it is most likely junk, generic chips aren't ideal when tuning an engine. As every engine is different. I wouldn't trust it, those generic ebay chips are a good way to destroy your engine.

Your best bet would try to return it ( unlikely) or just accept your loss and get a real means of tuning your engine.

damn it, i knew something had to be wrong with that. do you think i shouldnt even install it, incase it ***** my engine? or should i see how it performs?

i wouldn't even mess with it, you have no idea how much fuel is being
removed/added or how the ignition was adjusted. It can easily turn into a more costly situation. (blown engine).

Do a search in the archives on ecu tuning and you'll learn alot.
