Default Removing spindle nut - which direction?

I am thinking counter-clockwise, but can someone just confirm this before I do it?

counter clockwise, but good luck if you don't have an impact gun

Hey, I removed that last week and it's a TOTAL bitch. I broke a 1/2" breaker bar and the 3/4" breaker bar with 5' cheater was just rotating the wheel with the brakes applied. Had to get a 1200ft/lb impact wrench(1" drive) to break that sucker loose. I have no clue what it was torqued on at, but my driver side was on at well over 600 ft/lbs(i had to go from a 600ft/lb wrench to the 1200), and the manual says 180 something?!?

BTW, counterclockwise.

Del
