Removing SH spring and shock
Whats the easiest way to remove the shock and spring from a 5g SH? The bolt that holds the fork down runs into the tie rod or w.e... Im not sure where i should go next i dont feel like screwing something up.. maybe im just retarded.
You should get a helms. It's the same as other Preludes. Only difference is that, as it comes from the factory, you need disconnect the radius rod from the knuckle to get the shock fork bolt out of the lca. The radius rod gets in the way. When you reinstall, just put the shock fork bolt in the other way, and you won't have to disconnect the radius rod next time.
ya, thats what i figured when i was looking at it. I took a hammer and tryed to bang the radius rod down.. but i probably didnt hit hard enough? Is it pretty hard to knock off?
Don't do that. Remove the castle nut, then use the smaller of the two pitman-arm pullers available for rent at autozone. The balljoint releases the radius rod/lca/uca/etc soo easily when you use that, and it doesn't cost you anything.
