56K??!?! I didnt know they still used that! Anyhow, there are a number of places you can find OEM rebuild parts. On a side note, unless you have low compression, I wouldnt worry about a rebuild yet. Let's remember, this is a Honda and you have less than 150,000 miles. Like i said, unless its low, smokes, drinks oil or whatever. id rock it until you see signs of a worn engine.

Do you want oem spec or aftermarket performance?

Since you have to pull the head to replace the head gasket, you might as well do a 3 angle valve job at a minimun. Maybe Port & polish if you have the $$. Definitely get new valves (supertech) springs & retainers (supertech). Think about a pair of type S cams or Crower Cams or Skunk 2 cams. All will net you power.

The block. Depending on $, sleeve the block. If $ is tight, get type S pistons. Definitely get your crank balanced and polished. New rods might be in order as well. Crower is good. Although I prefer Pauter.

Really really think about getting a good header & exhaust system for you car. I recommend SMSP. http://sms-products.com/index.html

Good luck. Make sure you ask questions...as many as you need to, before you tear that engine down. Keep us posted.

Can you pull the head off? Basically, will you be able to do any of the labor? Or does the 2k include labor?

Why are you rebuilding? I had over 200,000 miles on my engine with no problems or loss of compression. When we tore into the engine ther was virtually no wear on the internal parts. So make sure you need to rebuild, before you do it. Your other option is buying a low miles JDM engine from a reputable dealer.
