i have a 92 honda prelude s with an F22A1 and an M2S4 tranny. i just got done with the swap 3 weeks ago and everything was great.....except....now i hear a rattling sound that starts at the beginning of all the gears and stays rattling until i get past 3000 rpms or stop accelerating.......any ideas what this might be?

 

Could be something rattling in your exhaust flex pipe before the cat. I would say start with the exhaust system and if that fails get someone to rev the engine while you snoop around under the hood.

 

i only hear the noise when im driving and in gear...not in neutral

 

So if you have the car in neutral and rev to 3000 rpm you do not get the noise?

Hmm...dunno what else to tell you. How many miles on the transmission? Did you replace the clutch/flywheel when you put the engine in? Are you positive the noise is coming from the transmission?

Did you get any new parts from another vehicle to use in the swap that were not used in the car prior to the new engine?

 

ya its a new clutch and the fly wheel i had machined and lightened. the tranny is not new i got it from a guy who had it on his h22a4. and no im not sure its coming from the tranny all i know is i can hear it coming from the engine bay imma check the engine bay tonite for any loose things maybe something came loose idk
