Quick question?
I'm currently, thinking of doing a stock rebuild on my 99 Prelude, for daily commute. The car has 189k miles on it. I was wondering if I can reuse the pistons?, just to keep it cheap. I do plan on using new rings, rod and main bearings, along with new gaskets and so on. So, can I reuse the pistons or not?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I think the best way to go if you are just looking to get a fresh engine is go to the JDM importers in montreal or toronto and grab up a new engine. They are low kms and cheap. I paid $1000 for H22 with ECU, harness and trans (non LSD). Im not really easy on it but use AMSOIL and premium fuel (you have to use Premium if going over 4,000rpm) and it is really strong and runs like a champ. I have put 150,000 on mine and it still takes the *** kicking I give it on a daily basis
Remember the harder you drive it the more you have to maintain it.
