Default Quick heater question.

Can someone please tell me how to manually open the valve on the heater core so I can get some heat in my car? I'm hoping this will work, because I don't want to buy a new heater core or something. Help me out guys, it is getting cold! Thanks guys.

i dont think you can do such a thing...is it leaking or something? it should blow hot as long as the blower is working...

I'm pretty sure you can, and it isn't leaking or anything. And no, it does not always blow hot air if the blower is working. Right now it is just blowing nothing but cold air.

The heater valve is located against the firewall below the intake manifold. It should have two 1" rubber hoses and a plastic stem witha cable on it.

Just push/pull the cable to get the heater where you want it. I've had the little plastic thing come off before.

Bingo, I went out in the dark and finally found it. I looked in my cheap *** Chiltons and it gave me a crapy picture of what it looked like and told me to look on the firewall. I should have checked this post before wasting my time. Thanks, I now have heat! Prolink you know your ludes. And thanks everyone else for the imput.
