Problems with ATTS
I was wondering how many of you have problems with ATTS in the 5th gen prelude. i just recently purchased a 2000 Prelude SH and people have been telling me that the ATTS light will turn on if i lower my car. WIth this, i was wondering, will i lose any performance in handling?
Also, i have searched about a topic on springs in this forum. And i have still questions. People in this forum said that i could use any springs as long as i change my shocks too, but will i lose in handling since the SH is built for handling?
Please be nice, Ive seen how harsh some of you can be
Thanks

Thanks shake for the post, but i was also wondering, people have been telling me the ATTS light will turn on if i lower my car and if the ATTS light turns on does this mean the ATTS is not working? If so how could i fix this problem...THanks
Don't worry about the ATTS; it will work fine if your car is lowered. People who say stuff about ATTS not working on lowered cars are misinformed. I have a lowered Type SH (GC/Koni) which I have autocrossed/DE/road raced for 5 years now and have had zero ATTS problems.
ATTS works fine when the car is dropped mildly. just don't slam it and drive it daily, it could cause the ATTS to fail. your handling will be better if the SH is dropped even on stock shocks w/ aftermarket springs, it'll just be bumpy/bouncy. just make sure all 4 coilovers are measured correctly on the front/rear and you won't have a problem. the ATTS sensors are sensitive, if it feels that the car's stance is mismatched it might set off the ATTS light.

yeah tire size matters too. i remember the ATTS light coming on when i used my spare tire after a flat.

Thanks guys for your response. You guys say that tire size matter, so putting on my old 18 iinch C5s from my accord would probably make the ATTS light turn on right?

No, what they are saying is that if you run a different series tire in the back than in the front it will throw the light...I know from experience....Putting 18s on wont throw the light.
lowering ur car will not turn on the atts light. i've had my 01 prelude lowered 1.8 inches and is working fine, but one day it just came on and stayed on. i have no reason why it did and neither does the dealer, but they just resetted the whole thing and now its working mine
i run 18's on all four and no problem with ATTS. you can probably run stock 16's in the front and 18's on the rear, but i never tried it. just don't mismatch the sizes for the front/rear.
yes..I have run 17's in rear and 16s in front w/no problems..
you cant have 17's on the RF and 16 on the LF...that would cause some problems.
As long as the same diameter tire is directly across from each other.
