PROBLEM!! please help!!
Ok, I put Eibach sportline springs on my prelude about 3 weeks ago. I just took it in to Les Schwab to get it aligned today. I got in there and the guy told me that I had the springs installed upside down. His reasoning was because the writing on the springs was upside down. Now, I think they are installed correctly. The sportlines have a progressive spring rate, and how we have them installed now is with the tighter spring rate at the top, and the gap between the coils getting gradually higher as the springs gets lower. Here is a pic of another car: http://www.sentrastyling.freeservers.com/photo5.html That is how we have them installed. am I a dumbass or is the guy at Les Schwab a dumbass?? Thanks!
I recently installed sportlines on my accord and did the same thing, only b/c the springs don't seem to fit correctly on the rear if you don't flip them. The top end of the spring lines up with the bottom "cap" and bushings much better than it does with the bottom end, so we left it that way. I'm not understanding why this would matter.. please let us know what you find out.
edit: the diameter of the rear spring is different on the top and bottom ends, which fit the "caps" (wtf are these called) on the shock assembly only if the spring is upside down.
