Default problem at high rpm's

I got a 94 jdm h22 and the thing runs great untill i have been driving it around and it is at and has been at opperation temp for a while. Then it seems to run like poo. It is almost like my vtec is not coming on. Then while it first warms up it runs hella strong. Any clues i am stumped

like i said the bottom end is fine. At high rpm's it seems like vtec will not engage when i have been driving it around town, but if i get on it right after it warms up it is fine pulls hard and vtec is very noticeable.

I have a 94 h22 with a p28 ecu chipped, i got aem fuel rail and reg cause i thought that it might of been fuel got a new pump and injectors. I also got new wires, plugs, cap, rotor, thermostate, and wired up my msd 6al. Still the same. I wanted to get a new vtec silenoid but i am getting tired of spending money and not fixing the problem.

Get it tuned, lord knows what your tables look like. You could be running very lean after the engine warms up.

Amen, the man has spoken. Get that shiznit tuned asap, before you blow it. For all you know it might be starving for fuel at top end RPMs.

Check your motor oil level just in case too.

Check your timing and knock sensor. Any codes? Your intake air temp sensor could also cause your timing to be backing down.

I got code 19 automatic lockout a automatic ecu but i have a different ecu on the way.

I will have to check the air temp sensor i will let you know thanks

wait until the oil is warm, change your vtec solenoid gasket, H22 at high RPM's needs warm oil, and pressure, if not it won't switch into vtec, if the car is at operating temp, then there is not enough pressure, so change that gasket, it's easy. (i did it in my swap)

goodluck </TD></TR></TABLE>I allways let my car warm up to normal opp. temp. first. It seems to happen after i have been drving it around for a while. I will try a new gasket maybe even a new silenoid thanks for the advce.

get oil change, tune up for process of elimination. most of the reasons why it wont hit vtec is because bad oil. But since we know that isnt the problem, then i say get a tuneup. how long after you start the car do you pull vtec. Because its quite normal for a car to shut off vtec until the engine is fully warmed up. i believe the term is ... dont kill me if im wrong, got it off a site TLM temporary limp mode. i dunno i could be wrong
but those are the theories. But i did hear that the car wont hit vtec until it is fully warmed up.
