Default preparing the bottom end of an H22

I am about to start combining the 2 engins I have. H22 & H23. I want to bore it out to 89mm and sleeve it. I also want to increase the stroke. The goal is to end up with a 2.5 Liter H series. Also what other tuning should I do to the raw block? I am asking for suggestions on products and processes.

I wouldnt mess with putting the h23 crank in it, just bore the h22 and run it like that

What are you talking about? I am using and H23 Block. Are you suggestiing I use and H22 crank on an h23 block?

Im suggesting that you engine will last much longer using a 90.7mm crank rather than your 95mm h23 crank, so I guess that would be putting an h22 bottem end in your h23 block

One more time....92-96 H22 blocks and 92-96 H23 blocks are the same. It is WORTHLESS to put an H23 crank in an H22 block if it is already in the H23 block.

Get the H23 crank balanced and you should be good to go.

We are not talking about the blocks. The blocks are identical. We are talking about the cranks.

My question is if quality of the H23 crak is inferior or not? Also, if I lower the crank MM, will it increase or decrease my dispacment with all other things remaning the same?

Also, who makes after market cranks or do you just get the cranked balanced at a machine shop?

the larger stroke of the h23 will increase your displacement while sacraficing the upper rpm range on an h22 due to high piston speeds and even higher piston speeds near TDC which will increase volumetric efficiency at low rpm because of the quick vaccum, but will decrease high rpm power because of pistons out-running the flame front not to mention more resistance because of higher side-loads, you would do better with a bored h22
