Default Prelude vs. ITR

Since I wrecked my '95 Prelude VTEC, I'm thinking about buying another 95-96 VTEC Prelude or move to the '98 ITR. How would you compare them?

well, this being a prelude forum, mostly everyone would recomend the prelude cause they are in my opinion the best honda ever made next to the nsx and s2k of course

actually the ITR is the best FF honda ever made.

in terms of performance and rarity, there is no FF car in the world that outperforms the ITR.

the prelude is nice, and won't get stolen as much but, if you have a chance at getting an ITR and don't mind installing 212312 different security measures, don't miss your chance.

I like the 4G Preludes design much more, but I also realize, that ITR's perform better (I've never driven one).

As far as I know, the ITRs are not stolen much here in Europe.

i think an ITR is actualy nicer. the only reason why id never get one is becuase there are alot of integras around, plus its such a simple design, even if you do the JDM front end conversion, pretty muvh everyone else has it too lol

but it is a great performing car, good engine, good stock susp, plus amazing aftermaket parts.

if i had money for an ITR id most likely get one, i love the design of the integras, but i also love the preludes.... id say go with a prelude and use all that extra money to mod it, and yes the prelude will have less of a chance of getting stolen than the ITR

ITRs are more rare than Preludes in Europe. So they can catch the thief eye more

ITR is not so style as Lude, but it's engine has a great potential. I like the comfort of Prelude, but I don't know what you like more.
I'd say stick with Lude

How you going to say a type r outhandles a type sh. The sh has more power, more torque, and the atts is way better than the stock type r setup. A type r with lsd might have a chance but no way stock for stock the prelude wins easy. Especially when you've got a suspension setup coupled with the atts trust me!

I think that the ITR looks like a normal small car when comparing to the 4G Prelude - but I mean here in Czech. I don't know of any case of stealing the ITR, nor the Prelude here.

I don't think a ITR can be compared to a prelude honestly...I love my prelude like nothing other. But an ITR was designed for the sole purpose of what it can do. Preludes sadly weren't designed the same.

i agree. they have different purposes. i'd get an ITR in a heartbeat if i could afford it, including having a safe locking garage to keep it in and knowing i'd never have to park it anywhere in public.

Prelude is more of a touring car, but still with great FF performance.

it depends what you value most i suppose...

sorry to hear your car was wrecked.

that would be all type r's then

i love my prelude, but i would lean towards the ITR. why don't you test drive one and see if it fits your style.

The ITR will out Perform the lude stock wise, but in my eyes the lude is a much nicer car to look at then the ITR. The lines of the car are just incredible nice, more exotic

On a windy course the lude will lose, but on the straights with a little tuning the ITR can eat dust.

Little vid to proof the point. (I now run H22a JDM)putting in forced Pistons etc etc for 300/400 BHP setup.

Me H23 Si Euro style(alot less heavy)No 4ws.
Mods H23: MSD 6al, Air intake, Full 3 inch exhaust, Apexi S-afc.
Mods ITR: Airintake, Cat converter, invidia exhaust, Vtec controller.

My words . ITR seems to me like a common car (it's curves etc).

The ITR is a true enthusiasts car. The Prelude is a luxury sports coupe. ITR ALL the way!!!

Limited production, light, high revving engine, excellent suspension(handling); what more could you ask for??
