i have a 1994 honda prelude si, but it has a f22 vtech motor form a accord. and it acts like its not getting fuel. and i can hit vtech one good time after that it wont even hit stage 1 vtech good, and it wont really want to go good. does anyone know what could be going on with it?

 

Check your fuel filter

the f22's with vtec were for fuel economy not performance.

but like others said its probably fuel filter/fuel pump or fuel injectors need to be cleaned. maybe a tune up if it doesn't go away after that, for starters.

 

we have checked the fuel pump and filter. and that doesnt really explane why it wont run right after hitting vtech one good time. it seems like compression issues. on that part.

 

What ecu are you using in the car?

 

Check the screen on the vtec solenoid

Check oil level
