Default a possible lude in sight

Currently i have a 97 ls teg. I really love the car but I am tired of it. I want something a bit faster. I want vtec and something a little bigger. Is a prelude really bigger? Can anyone fit in the back seat? I know i don't want a sh b/c i am going to mod. How is the tranny? I was going to get a wrx but the tranny's really suck. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Rick

I have a 4th generation Prelude (92-96). I would feel sorry for anyone sitting in the backseat. I'm 6' tall and for me to drive comfortable my seat is right against the backseat. I love the car though!

As far as the tranny, currently mine is an automatic. The general consensus is that auto sucks, but I haven't heard of any major issues with the 5-speed trannies.

You can do 4 people in a 5th gen, but it's really inhumane for person #4. 3 people works decently if at least one passenger is flexible

But if you're planning on carrying people lots, get something with 4 doors.

i usually dont let anyone sit in the back seat of my car cuz i feel bad

i think the lip kit is an option, so it doesnt come on all of them.

sh has the atts system and is less aftermarket friendly

hey man, ludes are not known for having bad trannys but there a few out there that are really messed up, my reverse got locked and got it repaired and the rest of the tranny stayed all wierd. and rxs is ur best bet ,the k20 responds a whole lot better to mods anyways. just my 2 cents

i don't like the rsx. to me it's a girls car. i look at it and think celica. i know the engine is nice but i want aomrthing a little bigger than my teg.

I just drove a base 97 lude. My impression is that it is slow. I swear my car is faster. Vtec is way over rated. It could have been ragged out though. It had those gay apc gauges on it and wiring in the trunk for an amp. I did like the torque. The interior is nic. It rides really nice and handles great. I know no matter what car i get it i must get an aftermarket clutch and flywheel. I have a excedy stage clutch and streetlite flywheel and it feels 100 times better.

Could this lude have been ragged out. It only had 98x on it. To me my friends tc is much faster and i think my teg is as well.

thanks
Rick

was it a automatic or 5spd?
if it was a 5spd, i would say it is in pretty crappy shape. it should be way faster than an ls teg. my 92 si prelude is faster than an ls teg, and si preludes have 30 less hp than a Vtec Prelude
