Default Possible dizzy problems!

Sometimes I have trouble starting my car, I hear a grinding noise when I crank it and sometimes I don't, sometimes it will turn on right away, I took the starter to get checked and it's good, I got fuel also, I was checking for spark and number 4 plug shocked me while cranking the car even though I was holding the screwdriver from the rubber grip, the others have spark as well but didn't shock me, I'm thinking my dizzy is bad but I'm not sure, oh and wires are new, dizzy cap is good as well as the spark plugs so what could have caused that/

Did you actually pull the starter off and look at the gears to see if that is what the grinding noise was coming from? Because if it runs fine but has trouble cranking then I doubt its the distributor.

yea check the starter teeth and ground. i had this same prob. it ended being the starter had its teeth all grinded off, it got like that from a bad starter ground.

^Sometimes which can be more common is an aftermarket starter not lining up with the flywheel good and it chews the teeth up, we see it a lot at the dealer.
