Default Pilot bushing

Hey I bought a new flywheel from Honda and noticed that where the pilot bushing is supose to be, there is a grey piece of plastic. Are these what they use now? Because u can't just buy a pilot bushing for h22. I didn't see an answer in the FAQ

H23, H22, and F22s don't come with bushing. Trust me, I've done F22s and H22s.

Yea so have I. Not stock flywheels though. My aftermarket fidanza flywheel uses a pilot bearing. But the stock does not. What does it use then? Nothing at all? Hard to believe but please inform me

Sigh. I bought a H22a flywheel from HONDA. I am taking out my 8lb fidanza flywheel which DOES use a pilot BEARING. I am putting in the new OEM flywheel from honda which does NOT use a pilot bearing. I am asking to make sure the flywheel from honda does not use anything at all. I Just put it on? No bushing, correct?

What do you mean there is no pilot bearing/bushing? My stock h23 flywheel has a brass pilot bushing and my aftermarket clutchmasters flywheel came with a pilot bearing. Some do have them. For the ones that don't, maybe they failed, fell out, or no one ever installed them.

Thank you! The problem I am having is that my NEW OEM flywheel from Honda for an OBDI H22A does not have the pilot bushing on it. All it has is a grey peice of plastic that I can NOT remove.

I see now, yes that brass bushing should be there. But, thats different from a Civic/Teg's pilot bushing. Thats what we thought you're talking about for a min. Lol.

You don't need to install anything, just slap it on and go. It should already come with one from factory.

Update: Ok guys I went back and looked at the OEM Flywheel, and it does infact have the pilot BUSHING installed.

Here are some reference pics showing a oem honda H22A flywheel with a pilot BUSHING, and then a aftermarket Fidanza 8lb H22A flywheel with a pilot BEARING

OEM with BUSHING

Fidanza 8lb with BEARING

I know this is an old thread but I have the same question sort of.
I have a F22b1 engine that is shot. I bought an F23a from jdm-Orlando and the guy there said the only thing I needed would be a pilot bushing...ofcourse I'm not doing the work a Honda mechanic is and I'm sure he will know but just wanted to ask if I need to go buy one?
