Default Pic Request + question: Alternator relocation.

I want to move my alternator down into the OE location where the AC compressor used to be. I know Innovative makes a nice alternator relocator mount, any other companies ? + Please post up pics of engine bays if you have your alternator relocated, I just want to see setup and clearance, ..I can use my imagination, but would like to see pictures too. ( h22 engine )

For the lower relocation mount, you must get rid of your A/C system, mainly the A/C compressor as this is where the alternator will now be positioned. I have no a/c, so I can do this, but for others it might not be worth it.

edit:
fyi i believe ESP makes 2 types of alt relocate kits, one uses the a/c compressor spot, the other looks to sit a little lower then the stock location. i think the reason they made this was for an h22 in a civic or crx or something. so check out their site, i know it is on there somewhere.

Even lower than the AC compressor location ? I don't think thats possible. Yes they make 2 kits, one at the AC compressor location and one at the Stock h22 location ( ..benefit of this is lighter mount + you can use lighter D-series alternator ). I'm more interested at the kit that relocates the alternator to the AC compressor location. So far it's ESP and Innovative that make these mounts, any other companies ?

What's the problem with where the alternator is located? Isn't this intended for H22 civic swaps?

That's some good 6lbs you'd be saving, sounds like a good weight reduction idea.

also a lower center of gravity, and with the smaller alt, its less weight towards the nose of the car.

i saw the ESP one first, but the Innovative looks yummy

In reality the weight loss comes from the brackets weighing less (6 lbs), because the H-series and D-series alts weigh about the same....less than 1 lb difference.

And, just FYI, the Explicit upper D-series mount gives you about a 1" lift of the alternator for turbo or header clearance if that is what you are looking for.

in for some pics.

I would love to move the alt up about an inch. need to see the clearance at least in a good pic before i get one, can't just estimate.

Sorry, I don't really have good before/after shots, but here is some pics that show the D alternator and the Explicit bracket. I remember for sure that the new bracket create about 1" more clearance for different manifold. I was planning on using a Lovefab min-me manifold so that's why I switched to the D alt.
