Default oil pressure problem

when i turn the car on the oil light comes on and stays on until i rev the engine to like 2.5k rpms. then once i do that it will either stay off for the whole trip or blink on and off (like 1 second intervals) its not a really fast flicker, just more of a casual on and off thing.

we took the oil squirters out hoping to solve the problem but it doesnt seem to have helped...

oh and from what i can tell it only happens when the car is colder than operating temp. if i were to drive it and get it up to temp and then turn it off at a stoplight or something then turn it back on the light doesnt come on at all.

help?

U need to adjust the timing on the valve cover and u also need to take the cone off your intake so u will gane 30 hp to the wheels.

yeah buddy.....

have you checked your oil pressure switch? I take it you swapped in a h22 in your 92? was this happening before or is this the first time you fired up the engine after the swap?

DON'T DRIVE IT! That idiot light is there for a reason.

Go to autozone, pay $15 and get a new oil pressure sensor. Install it. Then take a look at your oilpan. Is it dented up ANY? If so, it could be pressing against the oil pickup tube, restricting the oil flow and causing low pressure. You could also have a clogged screen on the oil pickup tube.

If the sensor doesn't make the light go away, then you're losing oil pressure. Pull the pan and see what's wrong.

there was a small dent in the corner of the oil pan that we pushed back out.

and the screen isnt clogged b/c i cleaned that out before we put the engine in

if the oil light would stay on or flicker then i wouldnt drive it, but it does neither of those and my mechanic said a slow blinking is nothing to worry about especially if it goes away completely if i turn the car off then back on.

ill check out the price on an oil pressure sensor at work tomorrow. i dont go cheap at autozone

the honda engineers are some of the best in the world I researched this and the h22a already produces 102% ve flow rate at around 7000 rpm how can you top that
