Oil light flash
97 base prelude (jdm h22a):
I already searched this topic and found some possible answers but none of the problems sounded like mine.
I'm driving today, first snow fall, and in second or third gear (i forget) i was in gear @ 2k rpm and i chucked the revs and the tires spun in the snow while I was driving and the revs went to about 4k and then back to 2.
I did this and I noticed while it was at about 3k rpm I saw a very quick red blink.
Didn't even know what light it was.
It happened twice on the way home, super fast and just while the motor was revving free.
so I turned the key on and found it to be the oil light as far as I can tell.
Any suggestions on whether this might be oil pump or pressure sensor?
Should I just replace the sensor and go from there? or just tighten it or mess with the connection?
It's very hard to diagnose because It happened those two times and I cannot get it to happen again, I went out again about an hour later and tried to get it to flash but it seemed fine.
thanks guys.

Was it a single blink?
I know if the oil light is blinking constantly that means you have low oil pressure and your oil pressure switch may be going out as well. Have you checked your oil levels?

Oil levels = perfect, exactly even with the full dot
As for the flash, it was one single flash, happen quickly, so quick that you couldn't read what light was flashing.
It happened twice, each time was during a rev chuck, but never before and never has happened since.
I should also note that my drivers side motor mount is torn and allows my engine to shift slightly more than normal.
Maybe this could be putting stress on the sensor, and when I chucked the revs it did something?

It could be a loss in pressure that is intermittent from a failing oil pump or it could be the sending unit starting to go bad. Before I'd do anything I'd test the oil pressure and make sure it's right as most people have gotten a random flash here and there then all the sudden their oil pump goes bad and burns up the motor from lack of oil.
