oil filter relocation issues?
hey guys i just installed a oil filter relocation kit on my 2001 type sh. its a h22a with a skunk2 intake manifold. the car had zero issues prior to this other then a egr code for the skunk2 manifold. so i install the kit no problem. car turns on and runs fine. but when i get on it enough to crack vtec it engages vtec but its surgey and definitely down on power. all other times its fine. just vtec is surging. only code im getting is for the egr. any help would be awesome.
With the relocation kit, you may need more oil to fill the lines and keep pressure up when running, so maybe it is that simple.
Next thought would be that something was knock loose on the install, and made its way to the screen in the vtec solenoid, so I would clean that out.
Hopefully those ideas help, although not sure why ya relocated the filter on an SH, aren't they super easy to deal with.

How far did you move it? If you moved it a good distance than you're automatically going to lose oil pressure because of the distance the oil has to travel. It could be the distance you moved it, used too large of lines, worn oil pump can't produce the volume that a newer pump can which is causing a loss of pressure. Could be not enough oil like snobord said?
thanks guys and yeah i moved it 2 ft with 1/2 inch lines. because of the skunk2 manifold on the type sh i had to remove the fuel rail to change my oil filter and i had to use smaller civic filters. the prelude ones wouldnt fit under the manifold. ima try cleaning the vtec solenoid. thanks for the quick responses!
