Off-Topic posts...
I'm new here, but I've been coming here for info ever since I started thinking about buying a Prelude over a year ago. What I've noticed is that whenever someone posts something that isn't exactly on-topic, someone will quickly say "Hey, this is OT and shouldn't have been posted here!" I do understand that it is necessary to keep things from getting out of hand where someone justs sells crap or rants on and on (like I am now) about anything, but here's the catch:
When I need an opinion on something, whether it's suspension or appearance- related or whatever, the people whose opinion I'm looking for drive my car. People who drive domestics or other brands of imports or even other Hondas couldn't (sometimes, not always) give a squat about my choice of spoilers or coilovers or sidemarkers or whatever. Hell, my friends that drive S2000s (even those that use to own Ludes) or NSX's or whatever might consider my car to be a worthless bucket anyway (like the NSX-driving sales manager at my local Honda dealership who told me he wouldn't drive my car to haul dirt in), which is fine cause I really don't care what they think, I care what my peers think. Posts in other general sections (and even here between gens) sometimes tend to turn into "My dad can beat your dad!" pissing contests, and the original question gets quickly forgotten.
What I'm trying to say is, cut a little slack when someone comes in and asks for our (your) opinion on something that is mildly OT. Maybe it counts for something that they care what you guys think, because no matter what gen it is, a Lude's a Lude and we all love this car.
A few of you may agree with me, and maybe most of you will think I'm a flaming idiot, but that's ok too, because reading the posts here is part of what made me spend months and months searching up and down the East Coast for a specific car that they don't even make anymore. We all come here for advice, or to help others who don't know anything and want to learn. To me it means something that somebody actually wants my 2 cents.
That's it, I'm done. Now feel free to flame on...

I agree. I have no problem with semi off-topic posts with a Prelude slant - as long as they are titled appropriately...
i.e. A post title like, "OT: something something"

you have the best point so far, if i were to come in this forum and bitch about how my GF is bugging the hell out of me to make more money, then then everyone should flame me, but if i were to come in and say, "well, i'm having problems getting parts", or "i'm thinking of buying such and so car" or even "my GF wants to dump me b/c i sepnd to much money on my Lude" then those are semi-related topics, and should be labeled so, but are still un neccesary to the Prelude forum, regardless.
What you really seem to be upset with is the fact that Lude owners dont really go into Appearance/Cosmetic. Thats that Todd or Corey's fault. This forum is for prelude tech discussion I dont see how thats open for debate. Its pretty cut and dry IMO.

I have, and I know maybe you've all seen posts in other sections where someone comes out and says "Aw, who cares what you do with/modify/put on that thing, it's a rolling bag of poo anyway." That goes for Civics, Tegs, whatever, not just Ludes. Nobody wants to hear that. You may still get that reaction on your own forum, but at least it's less likely.

if you want tech advice come here, and you'll eventually find it. Don't feed the animals or use the search feature.
If you want to be in a message forum w/ actual humans, I suggest preludeonline.com. People that post here aren't people, they are actual H22's that have become personifed w/ magic powers similar to those that made the candle stick talk and dance in beauty and the beast.

boo hoo. I come Honda-Tech to get REAL ANSWERS.And the more people like you come along and fill the board with ****, the less chance people who actually know something will see my tech post.
Honestly I'm not trying to flame you personally, but you can go somewhere else for non prelude tech stuff, just like everybody else. I have the same questions but I will post them somewhere else on another prelude site, cause I REPSECT what honda-tech is supposed to be.
Some people just show up from some site that doesn't exist anymore and expect it to be like their old one.

Damn, why is it that nobody actually listens? Can't you read? I never said that I came here for, or want to see, non tech-related posts here, did I? NO! Except for this one, I have never and will never "fill the board with ****." I don't come here to share cooking recipes or baby pictures or talk about my job, I personally come here to learn what I don't know from those who do. Period, end of story.
And no, I didn't come from HP.com. And yeah, you are flaming.

TECH can do with installing iNdiGlOs yO!, to lowering your ride, or installing an HID conversion. They all have to do specifically for Prelude applications only, because like any other car, they are setup different mechanically and electrically. If it's not Prelude related, then yeah, you're a flaming idiot, but if somebody wants to know what type of drop will suit their needs, OF COURSE they are going to ask a huge forum of guys who for the majority have lowered Preludes what they think of the matter. I know 99% of you here don't just buy **** because it sounds or looks good, you want feedback from other people, and that's all the newbies want as well--you weren't born Prelude Gurus, despite what you may think, you had to learn somewhere. Even if it doesn't increase HP or gain that extra 10th in the quarter, it doesn't mean it's not TECH related because it still involves installation, knowledge on what your doing, and the majority of the time it involves messing with something mechanical or electrical. That's what TECH is, otherwise they would have dubbed the site "Honda-Mechanic.com." if it was strictly engine management.

It is Honda-tech.com for sure, but its short for Honda Performance Tech. Thats why there are other forums for Appearance, Stereo and Off Topic discussion.
