Default On/Off Switchable PS Pump

I was thinking today, you know how the a/c compressor is able to switch off and just let the pulley turn freely with no load, therefore robbing no hp.

Anyone got any ideas on maybe doing that for the PS pump, i want a nice little
"add 8 whp" switch in my console, and of course the button will be red

i will have to play with the extra a/c comp and ps pump i have, but has anyone else thought about this/done it before?

thanks

That's a very good idea. I'm not technical enough to know how easy/possible it may be, but bump for a good idea

Anything's possible. However, not gonna be easy considering that the AC does it with a big *** clutch. Maybe you could retrofit an AC clutch from some car to the PS pump. Not gonna be fun, I don't think...

If you could fab one up, you're most likely going to need to move the mounts on the PS pump inboard to line up the belt.

Doesn't Euro R's come with Electronic P/S? At work we get euro R motors theres never a P/S Bracket or anything, and the valve covers have a extra piece for a 10mm bolt, maybe you could somehow find that, Never seen a pic of it though, but if you could somehow fab something to work like the AC does with the clutch, that'll be I'd be the first one to buy one .. well good luck with it..
