Default OEM CD player problems

The thing only reads disks if they have virtually no scratches on them, and won't read any burnt disks. Are there any solutions at all?

Yep.

I really don't want to dish out money for another headunit, and am sick of only being able to listen to the radio.

Maybe the head in the CD player is dirty. Get one of those CD player cleaning kits and maybe that will help.

Does it play sometimes? How about real CD's as in non-burnt ones, do they play?

edit: didnt see that it doesnt play burnt disks at all. What format are you burning the music at? Dont burn as a mp3, jsut make a music CD in Nero.

It won't play disks burnt as a audio cd's at 4x and finalized. I tried putting in a Sony CD/DVD player disk cleaner with the brushes on it, but it just spits it back out like the other disks.

It almost sounds like its pooched. Maybe try and disable the CD player and reenter the code to reactivate it and see if that works, but it sounds toast to me. Maybe try and burn the disks at a higher speed, don't know if that will help though.

This is something that has been discused before. The OEM cd player sometimes won't read burnt cds, so it looks like you may need to invest in a new cd player
