Default Re: OBD1 - OBD2 difference (BB4-Japanpower)

OBD2 did fully start in 96, so yours should be an OBD2 system. Both systems due have their advantages, however OBD2 is disliked due to its limited tuning capabilities, OBD2 was really introduced for emissions. One of the biggest differences you will notice is that OBD2 has a secondary o2 sensor, also crank sensor, and im sure there are many more. If you want to convert your system you'll need to get a ECU and a conversion harness. You can get a harness from Boomslang fabrication.

Hope this was some help to you.
