Obd2 Cam Gear Tuning----Myth Debunked
chipping obd2s are hardly cost effective tho. techtom was the first method. Immos are cake to deal with these days. the p5ms were kinda an issue but some people like katman can remove them now, i dont know how yet, but soon enough. Soon we will ALL be using obd2 and tuning with newer editors. editors that are WAY easy to use. things like the OT-2 etc are too much of an attraction to the general public. these editors wont require tuning. you tell it what you want and it will manage itself. probably all digitally
Hoedata will exploit it after somone else makes the editor, giving them the chance to steal it and call it there own. just like all of their "Intellectual Property" ******!!
you guys are so lucky, obd1 exempt from smog Gah!!! I hate CA. although NorCal has the best junk yards in the country, i would rather have different smog laws.

Yeah, hardware cost is probably why nobody has felt like writing an editor for the old OBD2 ECUs, when you can just swap in an older ECU that still works fine but has cheaper hardware.
But editors are just an interface for people that can't do it in hex. Maybe someone will whip up an all-in-one solution that can emulate the zillion pin chip of the OBD2 ECUs (never seen one of those) and write code for it, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Most of the market is already satisfied with the OBD1 ECU solution...

So from everything I gathered, it seems like there is a somewhat bright future for people that have to keep obd2 and actually want to mod their cars w/o emissions worries.
From my searches, it seems like people either converted to obd1, or just didn't build it beyond what a vafc could handle.

Yah, so let me know whne you find someone that can actually chip/tune an obd2 ecu. Seem to think nobody is actually doing it......
Confirmed with Greddy that they still offer the E-Manage Ultimate. THEY sell a harness for the 96-99 Prelude, but said they don't make one for 00-01. Boomslang makes a p&p harness for all obd2 Preludes.
