Default o2 sensor wire replacement?

hey guys i had a shop install my header and they had to rewire the o2 sensor wire that connects to the cat.

now the thing is after some time the wire started to get damaged and cut up from road debri. so im wondering if i could simple buy one of those o2 extension wire and simply replace the damaged wires?

i was thinking this extension kit from password jdm unless i can pick up an extension kit from pep boys autozone or advanced. im not sure if they even have such a thing there thoe.

Wish I knew about these about a year ago, but now working at the 'stealership' there's just tons of old harnesses laying around where I could just make one in my free time for nothing. =p

You can use it to replace a section of damaged wire on the existing o2 sensor and electrical bung. Just cut the bad wire out, remove the female end from the extension, splice the new extension wire to the remaining wires coming from the o2 sensor. Observe good splicing practices when doing this...I would recommend solder and heat shrink wrap.

I wouldnt, since many O2 sensors of that era utilize the path of the wire itself to measure O2 content to compare to exhaust readings...

I hate fkin with solder, I just use butt connectors but cut the insulation off of them and shrink wrap over them, works very well.
