my 96 prelude H23, the clutch fluid was leaking a lot, now it dose not go into reverse.. any ideas??

 

did u put more fluid in it?

 

yep, the fluid is full.

 

im not really sure maybe a synchronizer but that is about alli can think of

 

i was thinking of putting in a new cluch and see what happens

 

im currently haveing the same problem but my reverse works... but my car bogs down when i change gears... are u having the same problem?

 

nada.. all gears work just no reverse

 

my gears work but there is no shift of power when i change gears and it make this grinding noise when i go to 3rd gear sometimes

 

bleed the clutch line and report back

 

I've got a '94 VTEC. The Reverse just stopped working one day. All the other gears worked fine, the clutch was working fine, no fluid leak, nothing. It didn't work for about two more weeks. Then it just started working one day. I've never found out what was wrong with it but I haven't had a problem since.

reverse has no synchro

the problem with the h trannies when you can't get into reverse is with the shift fork, it can get bent, there was a recall on them for problems with 5th gear.

My old prelude did this once, I just went caveman on it and eventually got it to work.

 

i was thinking of the shift fork, cuz it leak fluid for a while and just sop, now it dosent go in reverse at all..

isn't the 5th gear grind caused by a manufacturing defect w/ the fork? my reverse is an itch to get into sometimes. i just release the clutch and depress it again and it normally goes in. any thoughts on that?

 

did ya ever miss shift ? let some one drive my prelude and he bent my fork... left me with no reverse for a while til i could get it fixed

 

My Friends Lude is experiencing this right now! Misshifted from 2nd to 5th, and now it won't go into reverse??? HELP!?

 

mine dose the same.. miss 2nd to third and sometimes 4th to 5th... it sux.. no reverse also.. dose any one know the cost of the shift fork and where location it is.. this is my first prelude..

 

Mine dosent like to go into reverse all of the time,but if u run the shifter through 1st and 2nd before u try reverse it usually helps w the engagement.

 

mine does the same thing too like 93suvtec said go to 1st or 2nd first and it should go right in
